R2: Mosaad 3-1 Saurav

Omar Mosaad (Egy) 3-1 Saurav Ghosal (Ind) 11-9, 1-11, 11-9, 11-8 (58m)

I can’t say I was surprised with the result today. The way Omar was playing yesterday was impressive and today, although he let go of a game where Saurav had a great start/lead, he was very strong mentally and physically. He’s lost a lot of weight, seemed to have changed his training regime and is as fit as he was about 10 years ago…

On the glass, against Paul, in front of his crowd, he’ll have nothing to lose…

Omar

It was not a physical match really, it was more about the mental aspect I felt. Although the first game was very tough, a lot of long rallies, I had a little bit of a breather in the second.

Then the fact I got hit in the eye seemed to give me more intensity somehow!

It was trying to play the best I could. He is older than me, so I had no excuse for not winning. We usually have very tough matches with Saurav, I was so up for this one, I wanted to back up my good match yesterday.

I wanted to keep the momentum going, I put a 100% in every match, I’m lucky to have a good team around me now, Amr Khaled as my coach, Mark Burns for my fitness, and Dr Nour as a mental coach. I hope I can keep going.

A good rest day tomorrow, then Paul Coll on the traditional court. Against such a talented player as Paul, you have to build a good plan, I’m physically in a good place, my squash is good too, so I’ll do my best and hopefully, I can win.
