R1: ‘I didn’t want to leave Gouna”, Kenzy 3/1 Nele
Kenzy Ayman (EGY) 3-1 Nele Gilis (BEL) 14-12, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8 (46m)
Very intense match, Kenzy improving a lot at all level in her first ever Gouna, I didn’t get to see more than a few rallies at the end, but Nele didn’t seem very happy with the referring.
Kenzy : After playing Amanda Sobhy in Optasia, where she beat me 3/1 in a very close game, we both talked about my fitness. And I was thinking a lot about fitness before my match with Nele, as she is one of the fittest player, if not the fitter, on the Tour.
I’m really happy that I managed the game, the way I didn’t waste too much energy at the start of the match, not too much hype, because my fitness is not as good as hers. So I’m very happy I found my game, mixing power with nice softer winners.
Being in Gouna is such an amazing moment for me, and I didn’t want to leave Gouna right away, especially as I have my father watching and he didn’t see me play for a while so, a great moment for me.
