Day Five : Orfi ousts Sherbini as semi-finals are set
Day Five in El Gouna and the last of the semi-final spots were claimed tonight at the C&C Centre.
Mostafa Asal went through without needing to play as Youssef Ibrahim pulled out injured, and he’ll meet Paul Coll in the semis after the Kiwi finally quelled the challenge of Mohamed Zakaria.
One World Junior Champion progressed though as Amina Orfi came through a five game marathon to down second seed Nour El Sherbini. She’ll face Olivia Weaver for a place in the final after the USA #1 maintained her unbeaten run over Tine Gilis.
