A few chats with the refs from both, nothing bad though… Just intense and good squash…

Marwan : It a tough one, my slow start didn’t help at all. But I don’t know… he gets me edgy. He got me edgy at the ToC, he got me edgy here today. I wanted to fight today, I definitely didn’t want to lose today. There is no structure to his game, and I’m a structured player, so I can’t get into my shots when I play him.

Happy to win, it was tough. Very tough, and happy not to get back home for sure.

You know, I’ve played nearly 600 matches on PSA, so it’s not a question of age, but more being on the Tour for a very long time.

Sometimes, I go on court and I see my opponent, with 200 matches, so I use my experience but the hunger that those young ones have is hard to match for me. So I’m looking for a good summer break and next season, I want to do well. At the end of the day, the Olympics are round the corner, and I want to give myself a good chance to qualify. Qualifying is so hard, but it’s my dream, and if I manage to get there, I’ll definitely retire on the spot.
