Day ONE : Zakaria ousts Momen on busy opening day
A busy day as the 2025 El Gouna International got under way with 32 Round One matches.
For the most part it was the seeded palyers who progressed, with one major exception as World Junior Champion Mohamed Zakaria ousted fifth seeded Tarek Momen in straight games for his first win over a top ten player.
Elsewhere Joelle King won a thrilling five-game battle against Amanda Sobhy, Paul Coll was taken the distance by Mohamed Aboelghar, and top seeds Ali Farag, Nouran Gohar, Mostafa Asal and Nour ElSherbini all progressed on the glass court.
